A decade on, we're an eleven-person team with a fully equipped workshop, in-house compressor rebuild capability, and a record of delivering complex industrial and commercial refrigeration without ever losing the personal accountability we started with.

Where We Started
Absolute Zero Refrigeration was founded in 2016 from a garage-based workspace, with one service vehicle, a set of tools, and a vision that was, frankly, bigger than the setup suggested. The idea was straightforward: build a refrigeration company that cared about the quality of its work and the strength of its relationships, and let that drive everything else.
The growth story
That's still the idea. What's changed is the scale at which we can deliver it. From one person in a van to an eleven-person team with a fully equipped workshop, we now carry out the full scope of industrial and commercial refrigeration in-house, including compressor overhauls and rebuilds, custom fabrication, and system design from first principles. The growth has been steady, earned, and grounded in what clients actually need from a long-term refrigeration partner.
The scale achievement
Absolute Zero Refrigeration is one of a small number of companies in New Zealand with the in-house capability to carry out full industrial compressor overhauls and rebuilds. We work with ammonia, CO₂, and synthetic refrigerants. We've delivered 200kW spiral freezers, purpose-built blast chillers, vacuum coolers, and custom glycol chilling systems for clients across food processing, cold storage, manufacturing, and commercial operations. For a company that started in a garage, the depth of capability we've built is something we're genuinely proud of. More than that: it's a direct result of the trust our clients have placed in us, and the team we've built to honor that.
